Steam Train Fanatics
Harry Potter fans will love this iconic passing. The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a 100ft railroad bridge that offers views of Loch Shiel on its way between Fort William and Mallaig. The famous Jacobite Express travels across the viaduct offering tours on its steam powered train. Other than the occasional steam train, it is mostly used for diesel powered trains nowadays. Train spotters or interested visitors can also stand beneath the viaduct or above in the rolling hills to watch the magnificent sight of the viaduct in all its glory. There are plenty of wild camping spots near here and both Fort William and Mallaig (and towns in-between) have lots of campsites for a more comfortable night.
